ECERE

Description

ECERE (Ethanol Cooling Effectiveness in Rocket Engines) consists of rocket flow simulations with emphasis on film-cooling effectiveness in Star-CCM+. Ethanol-LOX engine with ethanol coolant; three blowing ratios and three temperatures are being tested to determine an optimal configuration. Little difference between configurations but 16.35% decrease in heat flux after coolant injection. Future research will involve more complex physics and experimental methods.
